American Waving Flag Pictures, Images and Photos   Proud to be an American

 Senator Sylvia Allen

State Senator Sylvia Allen has information you should know about her opponent Bill Konopnicki.
In 2009, B K fought against attempts to prohibit sanctuary city laws.  In fact, when the bill finally came up for a vote, Konopnicki and five of his allies actually disappeared from the floor during the vote in an effort to block the bill without having to cast a public vote.  Their tactic worked and the bill failed, but they were forever branded “The Sanctuary Six.”

City Looses $24,100.00
in Cinco De Mayo
Events/Tex Mex Concert

The City lost $24,000.00 on the Cinco De Mayo events. That number could possibly be reduced by $8,000.00 when disputed tallies are accounted for. Booth rental, ticket sales, and beer sales brought in $36,221.95. After payment of everything associated with the events, there was a loss of $24,100.00.

There were some lessons learned and that next year there will probably be a scaled down major event along with the return of the smaller Downtown Cinco De Mayo celebration.
